Background

NWRA was established by the Water Resources Act (2013) (hereafter “The Act”) with the mandate to provide for the management, conservation, use and control of water resources and for the acquisition and regulation of rights to use water.The National Water Resources is established to promote the judicious and sustainable management, conservation, use and control of water resources and acquisition and regulation of rights to use water. The NWRA Mission is to regulate and manage water resources for the sustainable, effective and efficient use by all sectors in order to achieve socioeconomic growth and development agenda of the country.The Authority’s core mandate, responsibilities and functions, therefore, aim at ensuring improved water resources availability and access through effective water resources development and management.
